Welcome to Zuriel Leadership
Leaders make time for what matters most. When dreams collide, how to win at work and succeed at life without sacrificing either. If you are like most of my readers, you’re a successful, high achiever. You commit to winning, you look for the win at both work and in life, but what happens when dreams collide. Things keep getting in the way and life has now become your barrier to success. This may sound like a day in your life: “I have talked with Sue five different times on her time management, I just don’t know why she does not understand. I know I am the new supervisor in this dept., everyone tells me to watch my step because Sue knows how to make those in her way just move. I know this needs to be addressed. I will just give it time I don’t want any issues”. “I just don’t know where I am going wrong, I try to be available to my team, I try to assist in every way I can, I just can’t seem to get them to align with the vision and be dedicated. I just as well do it myself at least I know it will be done right. There is a void in good help, I wish I had better help”. “I often feel overwhelmed deadlines, soccer games, time with the husband business meetings. When I show up at the soccer game or an evening with my spouse I often feel the urge to pull out the phone, I often feel as if I am going to miss something important”. Does this sound like you? Be Honest: • Do you feel like life is coming at you faster than you can manage it? • Do you feel like I will just lead from a quiet place I don’t want any issues I just got the position? • Do you feel like what you thought would be a temporary issue is now a permanent situation? • Do you wish you had a mentor to guide you along the way?
I Know How You Feel I know how it feels to be in over your head- to have your success outpace your ability to manage it, while still attending to the things that matter most- family, health, faith and community. For years, I too struggled, struggled to align with purpose verses task, principle verses practice, to be effective in leading myself and teams. In my seventeen years of leadership experience, I have faced the reality that there is more to do than there is time. But I also realized the answer isn’t simply to get more done. The answer is to get the right things done. Once I figured this out, I was able to find balance, margin and joy I craved. Life Can Be Difficult You don’t have to choose to continue to feel overwhelmed. And, you don’t have to choose between success in your business and success in your personal life. You can reach your full potential in all areas of your life. Start by making time for what matters most. I dare you to ask yourself these questions; what matters most? Which of the four questions asked resonated with you? What would you like to talk about
first to begin to create balance?
